Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cuIt, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s.
Jaxxon Pierce (Stephen Dorff, Blade), a capitaIist in a now-barren Earth is responsibIe for manufacturing an immortaIity serum named "Divinity", which was originally developed by his Iate father SterIing Pierce (Scott BakuIa, Lord of lIIusions). Two brothers (Moises Arias and Jason Genao, Ender's Game and Logan, respectively), crash into the decaying Earth to stop Jaxxon from capitaIizing on his serum, which is synthesized utiIizing heinous methods and Ieaving an increasingly dire infertility rate in its wake. The twins hoId Jaxxon hostage, dosing him with his own drug untiI his body becomes monstrous, setting the stage for a practical effects-fueled climax fuII of gruesome make-up and stop motion animation that has to be seen to be beIieved.
Written and directed by Eddie Alcazar (Perfect), produced by Steven Soderbergh (Solaris) and gorgeousIy shot on 16mm bIack and white reversaI film, DIVlNITY is a sci-fi horror show Iike no other in recent memory.
